Postpartum & Motherhood Therapy in California

Therapy for Mothers, Postpartum Women, Perimenopausal women & Parents Across California

Motherhood can be one of the most meaningful experiences of your life — but it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally exhausting.

Many women struggle silently with postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, motherhood stress, identity changes, burnout, and feelings of guilt or inadequacy after having children. If you are feeling emotionally drained, anxious, disconnected, or unlike yourself, you are not alone.

I specialize in therapy for women, postpartum mothers, and parents throughout California, offering both telehealth therapy and in-person counseling in the South Bay of Los Angeles.

I work with clients experiencing:

  • Postpartum depression

  • Postpartum anxiety

  • Maternal mental health challenges

  • Pregnancy and postpartum adjustment

  • Motherhood overwhelm and burnout

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Relationship and identity changes after becoming a parent

  • Perfectionism and self-criticism

  • Maternal rage

  • Marital issues and emotional labor inequity

Many mothers feel pressure to “have it all together” or believe they should be enjoying every moment. In reality, parenting is complex, emotionally demanding, and deeply human. Therapy offers a space where you can speak openly without judgment and receive meaningful support.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and accessible. Whether you are navigating new motherhood, balancing the demands of parenting, or struggling emotionally behind the scenes, you do not have to go through it alone.

I provide virtual therapy sessions across California, making it easier for busy parents to access support from the comfort of home.

Seeking help is not a sign of weakness — it is an investment in your wellbeing, your relationships, and your ability to care for yourself and your family.

I look forward to supporting you.

Emma's story

Maternal Mental Health & Postpartum Therapist in California

As a mother of two, I understand firsthand how emotionally intense pregnancy, postpartum, and early motherhood can be. My personal experience, combined with extensive clinical training, has shaped my passion for supporting women through pregnancy anxiety, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, and the many emotional transitions of motherhood.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #79627) providing maternal mental health therapy in California, including online therapy for postpartum depression, pregnancy anxiety, and motherhood-related stress. I have been in private practice since 2017, offering compassionate, client-centered therapy to women and mothers across California through both telehealth and in-person sessions in West Los Angeles and the South Bay.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, where I graduated with honors.

I am an active member of Postpartum Support International and have advanced training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Maternal Mental Health Now, Postpartum Support International, the Seleni Institute (perinatal loss and grief), Growing Well LLC (birth trauma and trauma-informed care), and the Postpartum Action Institute.

My clinical work specializes in treating postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, pregnancy anxiety, birth trauma, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) using evidence-based approaches including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT).

In addition to my private practice, I am a representative for South Bay Families Connected and contribute to publications focused on maternal mental health and perinatal wellbeing.

I believe every mother deserves compassionate, specialized support during pregnancy and postpartum. If you are looking for a pregnancy anxiety therapist or postpartum therapist in California, I am here to help you feel more grounded, supported, and emotionally connected as you navigate motherhood.
